Where It All Began
In 1994, in a small kitchen in Maryland, The Lunchbox Lady was born from a simple observation: the working lunch had become an afterthought. Rushed sandwiches eaten at desks, forgettable meals grabbed between meetings—the midday meal had lost its soul.
Our founder believed differently. Inspired by the grand tradition of European luncheon culture, she set out to prove that a lunch could be both practical and extraordinary. That busy professionals deserved more than mere sustenance—they deserved a moment of genuine culinary pleasure in the middle of their day.
What started as a single delivery route has grown into something much larger, but the heart remains the same: every box that leaves our kitchen is prepared with the same care and attention as that very first delivery thirty years ago.

Chef Craig Falk's culinary journey began over three decades ago, trained in classical technique and driven by a belief that the working meal deserves the same care as a fine dining experience. That belief became the foundation of The Lunchbox Lady.
His approach is simple: cooking that works as hard as you do. Every recipe is built for flavor that holds up on the road, presentation that looks as good at your desk as it did in the kitchen, and the kind of lunch that turns a first-time order into a standing account.
Today, Chef Craig leads every aspect of menu development, sourcing, and quality control. His kitchen runs with the precision of a fine restaurant and the warmth of a family table — because he believes you shouldn't have to choose between the two.
